| Between Ebro and Pyrenees lie a few headlands (sierras), such as 'Sierra de Peņa' and 'Sierra de Guara'. De Sierra de Guara lies at 40 km away from the holiday residence, direction Barbastro. Sierra de Guara has a surface area of 54500 ha and consists of a huge nature area, unique for Europe. It is a freakish lime mountain with a number of deep canyons. It is also the European meeting place with one in the wide environment of about 76 various canyons. Canyoning (see photos below) is the combination of down streams in the mountain canyon, swimming, clambering, jumping, etc ... . Folders which describes the canyons are available. With the guide of the technical possibilities, everybody can search for their canyon. Sierra contains depictions of rocks and also one of the biggest spreading colonies of Europe, which includes the breeding places of the lammergeyers or bearded vultures. |
