The lake 'Lago de Barasona' has a surface area of about 10 km2.  The water is very pure as it comes from Pyrenees. The lake is also called 'Lago Azul' which means 'Blue Lake'. In the strong stream of mountain river 'Rio Esera' people can kajaking, rafting, fishing, ... .  Along the lake there is a spacious lakeside with a shallow surface. There is nearly no stream in the lake. Swimming and light water amusement are delightful at this place. Certainly there are also all water sports possible: sailing, surfing, water-skiing, banana-ride,... .

The holiday residence lies 60 km away from the highest Pyrenees peaks. Benasque valley contains more mountain peaks above 3000m. Here, all winter sports are possible such as skiing in the ski area of Cerler (Benasque).  Cross-country skiing, mountain walk (hiking), mountain climbing ... .  Or for a two-day trip with an overnicht in a mountain hut to the top of the highest Pyrenees mountain Pico de Aneto (3404 m). The last 500m you will pass the glacier on the backside. Closer by, Castejón de Sos, is the best centre for hang-gliding in Spain.

Specific sports?  Deep-sea diving (in the lake El Grado), parasailing, puenting (bungee-jumping until approximately 40 m).  At 40 km away from the holiday residence, direction Barbastro, lies the 'Sierra de Guara'.  This is the meeting place of European with twenty canyons.  Canyoning is a combination of continuous downstream in the mountain gap, swimming, clambering, jumping, etc... , 

At 1 km away from the holiday residence there is an archaeological side with the ruins of the Roman city Labitolosa.

The area is dotted with Romand and Moor edifices. Graus has healing natural spring water. Graus is also kwown for its mushrooms and longaniza sausages. Spanish villages and cities recognize a great tradition for folklore. Therefore there is regularly somewhere a bull running and bull fighting. Also don't forget the many fiestas (parties).

Torreciudad is an extraordinary beautiful and luxurious monastery. It is situated on the top of the hill with a view to the lake El Grado. It is a jewel of brick architecture. It is also known as internation pilgrimage and lies at the line Lourdes/Santiago de Compostella.

Don't miss the Spanish culinary.  Aragón offers a lot of cordialness and a delicious local kitchen. The countless bars and picturesque restaurants offer various local menus.  The basic of the Aragonese kitchen is meat. Especially roasted lamb of sheep (ternasco de Aragón) is really attractive. There is certainly also the typical Spanish kitchen with a lot of fish. In many restaurants you can order the home menu (menu de la casa) for about € 14,00 per person. The menu consists of appetiser, main menu, and desert including 1 bottle wine. It is strongly recommended.

The Spanish wine becomes more and more associated with the renowned French wine. Barbastro (at 25 km) is the central of Somontano wines, one of the best wines of Spain. The somontano wines convince their fruitiness, freshness and a pleasant aftertaste. There are varieties in red, white and rosé. Naturally in this area you can only find the wine cellars, more than worth to visit.
